To Do Lists

I have this list of stuff to do this week.  Mainly in preparation for my parents coming to visit, but also just general stuff.  It's pretty sad that when I read through the list of 15 or so items, the only one I feel like doing is cleaning the bathroom.  I hate cleaning bathrooms.  Like really despise.  So this just shows how much I want to avoid all the other to do items on my list.  Happy Thursday to me.

The Hoard

I'm currently reading the book Stuff about hoarding. Jed is reading it aloud to our kids (warning: this is NOT a kid book). Basically, everyone has a little bit of a tendency to hoard, we just do it differently and hoard different stuff. My 8 year old is currently inconsolable because he saw a pillow in the trash that he loves. A pillow he hasn't seen in over a year. A pillow that he had no attachment to whatsoever. Argh.
Just wait until I attack their empty toilet paper roll stash in the bathroom drawer.

Update:  Before my parents arrival, I made Princess Sparkley clean out the toilet paper roll hoard.  Here it is in its glory:

The dreams

I remember reading about pregnancy resulting in weird dreams for the pregnant woman.  I don't remember them with my other pregnancies.  I've gotten to the point where my big ol' pregO belly (which, sadly, will get much bigger) necessitates me sleeping on my side.  I'm a belly sleeper, so this results in not so great nights of sleep for me.  And these nights of sleep are filled with crazy dreams, the details of which I usually remember (which also isn't common for me).

I keep having one dream where my parents have gone out of town and asked me to feed their chocolate lab, Fenway.  I fail to remember to feed the dog for their entire vacation until they return at which point I'm freaked out that I've starved their dog to death.  Fenway enters the picture, sunken tummy with ribs sticking out, and for some reason, long gray eyebrow hairs (like the starvation has aged him).  He's alive but hungry.  Jed, my dream translator says I must be worrying about something I'm forgetting to do for my parents' trip out here soon.  I have a long list of stuff to do before they get here... it's not all done, but it's on the list.  What could I be forgetting?  OR, maybe I'm just concerned for the well-being of their beloved dog while they are away.

Buddy turned 8!

Buddy turned eight on Saturday (and my long time readers will know that this means Jed and I also celebrated 11 years of marriage).  To celebrate the anniversary, we had a camping/army cake.  Nope. To celebrate that kid who has taken over our anniversary, we had a camping/army cake. We couldn't decide if his cake should be army themed, or camping themed, so we sort of combined the two ideas (camping idea from Pinterest).  For those interested, the "logs" are Pirouettes made by Pepperidge Farms (or in this case, some cheaper varitey available at Walmart.  The "fire" is a fruit roll-up that was conveniently orange and red.
