Dressing up for Halloween

image from marthastewart.com
how to make this costume here

My kids are always asking me what I'm going to be for Halloween. But I haven't really dressed up for Halloween as an adult (post college). I might wear Princess Sparkley's candy corn costume from last year. Do you dress up for Halloween?

I haven't for the last couple of years, but I'm inspired by the candy corn costume. I want to wear one this year. Remember when we were flies being hit by fly swatters? And missionaries? That was my favorite dress up year.

I forgot about when we were flies. HA!

Uh, no. I try to wear orange and black. How festive am I!?!

I was actually thinking a lot about this today. I feel like I should dress up, and I feel that way every Halloween, but I never do anything about it until a few hours before Halloween and then my costume is lame. With that being said, I should start thinking NOW and plan something great, I just don't know what to be.

You guys dressed up as MISSIONARIES?! That is the worst costume ever. I hated as a single adult going to the dances and there were always guys dressed up as Elders. That is so stupid because, duh, no one is going to dance with you because you might be a missionary. Except why would an elder be at a dance...?

I'm with Lisaway. Black, orange maybe purple! I haven't dressed up since high school!

Cristin-
See, we weren't sister missionaries. We were Elders. Which, apparently cross dressing is against BYU Halloween costume policies, but nobody stopped us. If my photo albums weren't buried in my closet, I'd scan some pictures in. They were awesome costumes, everyone loved it.

Yes, our missionary costumes were hilarious!!! I don't remember even recognizing that we were cross-dressing and I don't think anyone else noticed either. I remember the band even dedicating a song to us at the ward halloween party, we were rockstars!

I haven't dressed up in a few years, though, like lisaway, I try to wear festive colors on the actual day to work (I mean, I work at a school, I have to do something, right?). I do have a great costume in my arsenal, though, if I ever get to go to an adult halloween party, but for this year I will be going to the school party with the teenage autism students.
